John McEnroe backs Andy Murray to clinch Wimbledon title

John McEnroe believes that Andy Murray will win the Wimbledon title due to his use of the home crowd on Centre Court.

John McEnroe has backed British number one Andy Murray to clinch his second Wimbledon title.

The 28-year-old has dropped just one set at SW19 so far this year and cruised into the fourth round of the competition by defeating Andreas Seppi in four sets last time out.

McEnroe believes that Murray's use of the home crowd on Centre Court, and his aggressive style of play, will see him repeat his triumph of 2013.

He told reporters: "I think this surface and the crowd, which Murray seems to be utilising more and more, will help him maybe that couple of percent that could make a difference.

"I think the draw has got easier for Murray as this tournament has gone on. Andy's healthier, and he's being generally more aggressive, he's trying to attack more off the return of serve."

Murray faces Ivo Karlovic in the fourth round of the competition.
