Jonathan Marray hopes Andy Murray gains inspiration from win

Wimbledon doubles champion Jonathan Marray hopes that his surprise victory can inspire fellow Brit Andy Murray to success in today's singles final.

Wimbledon doubles champion Jonathan Marray has said that he hopes his victory can inspire Andy Murray in today's singles final.

Marray and his partner Frederik Nielsen were shock winners in five sets over fifth seeds Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau.

Speaking of Murray, who takes on Roger Federer in his first Wimbledon final today, Marray said: "I'm sure he was watching. He follows how all the guys do. We're friends. If it gives him any kind of inspirational help, I'm sure it would be good.

"Obviously everyone's hoping for him to win. He's come so close in a lot of grand slams so many times before. He's working hard and he's right at the top of his game. I don't see why he can't."

Today's final begins at 2pm.
