Hello all. Thanks for joining me for what is hopefully the conclusion of this match between Ekaterina Makarova and Petra Kvitova.

A reminder of the status of play then. The two took to court initially yesterday afternoon, but were forced off for rain with the first set at 3-3.

Then the decision was made to put them back out on court at 7.30pm last night. It seemed an odd decision - the court was slippery and the clouds were making it quite dark. Nevertheless, they got through the rest of the set and another, with the score now a set each and 2-1 to Makarova.

It was an intriguing battle yesterday and will surely continue to be. The players are out and warming up, so we'll be able to get this one concluded pretty sharpish. Makarova is a break up and will serve when we get underway.

Overall, it's 2-1 to Kvitova in the head-to-heads, but 1-1 on grass. It was expected to be close and that was proven - Kvitova was magnificent in the first, but terrible in the second. Makarova continued to dominate in the third, but the sleep will have helped the Czech more.

So after a 16-hour wait, the fourth game in the final set is about to get underway. Makarova to serve.

There's an early challenge for Makarova and she's wrong. It's in, so Kvitova gets the first point of the day on Court One.

Two early break points for Kvitova...

BREAK! And there it is. Makarova plops a tame shot into the net and it's the perfect start after the long break for the Czech. Poor from Makarova, though.

Wow. It has done her good. Kvitova fires an unstoppable forehand down the line to race 30-0 up.

She doesn't want to wait any longer Kvitova. A really strong service game ends with an angled drop shot that Makarova can't get to. We're with serve in the third, but the momentum is all behind Kvitova.

She's still dominating. Kvitova dominates the first point of Makarova's service game and comes to the net to fire the winner.

What a brilliant point, and Makarova is back in it. Kvitova defends stubbornly, but finally puts an unforced forehand into the net - 30-15.

At 15-40, Kvitova turns it up with a forehand down the line then one across court into the corner to level it at deuce. Superb stuff form her.

BREAK! Well, I didn't see it coming in that game, but Kvitova has her fourth in a row. Makarova hasn't won one today and she could be out before she knows it!

Now brilliant from Makarova! At 0-15 up she comes to the net and swipes a fine winner with venom. That could give her a vital boost.

The first double of the day - but Kvitova's fifth - gives Makarova two break points...

BREAK! She only needs one of them, as Kvitova goes wide and long with a forehand. We're back with serve when a few minutes ago it looked all but over.

Now Kvitova has three breaks points! Jekyll and Hyde stuff from her. Makarova saves the first with a big serve...

Then Kvitova is offered an easy return but puts it into the tramlines - wasted chance.

BREAK! Instead she decides to win the point after an astonishing rally. She's first on defence, but turns it around to win the point with a big smash. Can she hold this time? If she does, she's in the fourth round.

A big forehand winner down the middle makes it 30-0, and it's looking good so far...

Now match point Kvitova. What can go wrong here?...

GAME, SET AND MATCH KVITOVA! Makarova gets one back with a nice return, then another powerful one sees Kvitova net. However, she just gets the win by finding the line with a forehand at the net.

Well, she came out today and put her troubles of yesterday behind her. If it had finished yesterday Makarova might well have got through, but instead Kvitova is through to face Carla Suarez Navarro in the next round.

A quick word from the victor, who is speaking to BBC Sport: "I didn't have a good night's sleep. I had the match from yesterday in my mind, but it doesn't matter as I found some break points and won.

"Of course I've [thought about winning again] but there is still a long way to go and there are some great players left. It's still very open."

Thanks for joining me briefly for this one. I'll be back with Agnieszka Radwanksa in a little under an hour, but do stick around throughout the day with reports, reaction and commentaries from this middle Saturday. Bye for now.
