Jamie Murray, John Peers secure dramatic win in US Open semi-finals

Eighth seeds Jamie Murray and John Peers save a match point on the way to a dramatic three-set victory over Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey in the US Open semi-finals.

Jamie Murray and John Peers have reached the final of the men's doubles at the US Open final after a dramatic three-set triumph over Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey.

After the opening two sets were shared, British representative Murray and his Australian partner Peers appeared to have one foot in the final after breaking in the eighth game of the decider.

However, their American opponents broke straight back and had the momentum heading into a tie-break, which they seized control of after moving 4-2 ahead.

The eighth seeds responded, though, getting back to 5-5 before Murray saved a match point to keep himself and Peers in the contest.

Johnson and Querrey returned the favour by saving a match point themselves, but after Murray and Peers nicked the mini-break, they served out for a 6-4 6-7 7-6 triumph, which equals their achievement of reaching the final at Wimbledon in July.

They will face French pair Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in the final after they eased past Dominic Inglot and Robert Lindstedt.
