Former world number one Rafael Nadal signs up to take on Juan Martin Del Potro at Madison Square Garden next year.

World number three Rafael Nadal has agreed to compete in an exhibition match in New York next year.

The Spaniard was forced to pull out of the ongoing US Open, which is held in the 'Big Apple', because of knee injury.

However, he will feature in the city in March 2013 at Madison Square Garden against Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro.

The venue is ordinarily the home of NBA's New York Knicks and the NHL's New York Rangers.

Serena Williams will also face women's world number one Victoria Azarenka on the same bill.
