Caroline Wozniacki: 'I was nervous'

Caroline Wozniacki admits that she felt nervous before beating rookie Jamie Loeb 6-2 6-0 in the first round of the US Open.

Caroline Wozniacki has admitted that she was concerned about facing Jamie Loeb in the opening round of the US Open.

Loeb, who was playing in her first professional match after being crowned NCAA champion, was no match for the Dane as Wozniacki recorded a 6-2 6-0 win and the fourth seed was quick to reveal her relief.

"I started out nervous. I didn't know my opponent," Wozniacki told the tournament's official website. "You know, you just want to kind of get a good start into the tournament, but as the match progressed, I kind of loosened up a bit. It was nice to get that win comfortably in the bag."

Wozniacki will meet Petra Cetkovska in round two.
