Great Britain's Andy Murray had to come from a set down to beat Marcos Baghdatis and book his place in the quarter-finals of the men's Olympic singles at Wimbledon.

The Scot's afternoon got off to a bad start as a Baghdatis break instantly put the Cypriot in control, but Murray soon broke back to level things up.

Murray dropped his serve again to give Baghdatis a 4-3 lead before the Scot failed to convert a break point that would have again brought him back on terms.

Baghdatis then squandered two set points on the Murray serve, but it mattered little as he served out the opening set 6-4.

The second was altogether easier for the British third seed, with a couple of breaks giving him a comfortable 6-1 win.

Murray took control of the deciding set with an instant break on the Baghdatis serve and could have stretched his advantage but for his failure to take four more break points.

However, the match remained on serve and the Wimbledon finalist set up a quarter-final clash with Spain's 11th seed Nicolas Almagro after taking the third 6-4.
