Gael Monfils pulls out of his first-round match with Andy Murray at the Japan Open.

Gael Monfils has pulled out of his first-round Japan Open match against Andy Murray due to injury.

Murray was due to begin the defence of his title against the Frenchman on Monday, but Monfils has deemed himself unavailable.

Murray overcame Rafael Nadal in the final of the tournament last year.

The Scot is currently ranked at number three in the world.
