Tomas Berdych says that he is happy with the start he has made to the 2013 calendar.

World number six Tomas Berdych has said that he feels "great" after reaching the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells.

The Czech number one dispatched Kevin Anderson 6-4 6-4, meaning that he has yet to drop a set in California.

"It feels great," Berdych told reporters. "I have been able to focus on my game, and especially today because Kevin has been playing great.

"I am happy to go through, and the fact that I haven't lost a set is just a nice bonus.

"It's the first [ATP Masters 1000 event] of the year and I've already started this year quite well."

Berdych will play either Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer in the last four.
