French Open increases prize money

Overall prize money at the French Open rises to £20.2m.

The French Open has increased its total prize fund to £20.2m.

Singles champions at this year's tournament will receive €1.8m (£1.29m), which is €150,000 more than they won in 2014.

Players beaten in the second round, third round and quarter-finals will earn 20% more in prize money this year.

The French Open gets underway at Roland Garros on May 19.
