James Ward has admitted that it was "difficult" to come from two sets down to win a marathon five-set match against John Isner in the Davis Cup in Glasgow this evening.

The world number 111 secured a 6-7 5-7 6-3 7-6 15-13 win over the American, who is ranked 91 places higher than him in the ATP standings.

After almost five hours on court, the 28-year-old told BBC Sport: "This is by far the best atmosphere I've ever been involved in and thank you very much to all the crowd.

"It was difficult. I had a lot of chances in the last set. It was an unbelievable match."

With Andy Murray beating Donald Young in the other singles match today, Great Britain hold a 2-0 lead.
