Tim Henman: 'British men's tennis is embarrassing'

Tim Henman says it is embarrassing that Andy Murray is Great Britain's only player ranked in the top 200.

Tim Henman has criticised the current state of British men's tennis, describing it as "embarrassing".

The former British number one believes that the national team will be reliant on Andy Murray in September's Davis Cup World Group playoff against Croatia.

"The signs are [Murray] will probably play against Croatia so I fancy their chances," Henman told BBC Sport.

"The fact we haven't got anyone else inside the top 200 in the world is still a bit embarrassing."

Britain set up the Croatia contest following a 3-2 victory over Russia in Coventry earlier this month.

Murray currently holds the rank of number two in the world, with Britain's next highest-rated player being James Ward in 217th.
