Late push earns France's Gwladys Epangue gold

France's Gwladys Epangue scores a late run of points to secure gold in the women's +67kg taekwondo event at the European Games.

France's Gwladys Epangue has secured a narrow 9-8 win over Milica Mandic of Serbia to claim gold in the women's +67kg taekwondo event at the European Games in Baku.

There was little to separate the two taekwondokas heading into the third round, with Mandic leading 4-2 after Epangue had been ahead early on.

However, the Frenchwoman added five points in the final minute of the contest to wrap up the win, with a late body kick sealing it for the 31-year-old.

Russia's Olga Ivanova and Iva Rados of Croatia secured the bronzes.
