Ross Murdoch: 'I struggled to recover from 200m breaststroke'

Ross Murdoch admits that he struggled to recover fully from Thursday's 200m breaststroke final.

Ross Murdoch has admitted that he struggled to make a recovery from Thursday night's 200m breaststroke final before competing again on Friday.

The 20-year-old, who claimed gold over 200m on the first night of the meet, revealed his difficulties after booking his spot in the 100m final.

"I feel fresh and good," Murdoch told BBC Sport. "Recovery wasn't great after the back of the 200m because we got back late.

"I haven't seen anything from yesterday's win really, I'm just trying to stay grounded."

Murdoch beat favourite Michael Jamieson to win the 200m gold.
