Fran Halsall has claimed her second spot in the Team GB squad for the London Olympics after success in the 100m freestyle.

Halsall beat her fellow Loughborough swimmers Amy Smith and Rebecca Turner with the year's fastest time of 53.57s at the Aquatics Centre in London.

"I am a bit disappointed with the time if I am honest. I thought I would go a bit faster than that tonight," Halsall told Sky Sports News. "I've never been this fast in Britain before though, for this time of year it's the fastest I've ever been so I can only take good things from that."

James Goddard and Joe Roebuckmen also booked further places at the Games in the men's 200 metres individual medley.
