Team England swimmer Adam Brown admits that he is looking forward to spending time with his newborn daughter after the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow end.

Team England swimmer Adam Brown has spoken of looking forward to spending time with his newborn daughter after the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow come to an end.

The 25-year-old, who qualified for the final of the men's 100m freestyle this evening, missed the birth of child Elizabeth Jane as he was training for the competition.

Brown told reporters: "My little girl was born four weeks early and I was at the training camp in London, so unfortunately I missed the birth. I'll be back soon to meet up with my little girl. She's healthy and I'm looking forward to getting back home to spend some time with her.

"I'm pleased to be through to the final. It's all about making it through to the finals and I've done that. I'll get some rest and hopefully come back faster tomorrow."

The final of the men's 100m freestyle swimming competition takes place tomorrow evening.
