Rebecca Adlington backs Siobhan-Marie O'Connor to thrive at Commonwealth Games

Rebecca Adlington tells Sports Mole that Siobhan-Marie O'Connor could succeed for Team England in this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington believes that British swimmer Siobhan-Marie O'Connor will impress at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.

The 18-year-old, who clinched two gold medals at recent trials, is part of a 39-strong England swimming team for the competition in Glasgow.

Adlington, who is an ambassador for the Games following her retirement from competitive swimming last year, has told Sports Mole that O'Connor is one to keep an eye on following her performance at the London 2012 Olympics.

"[O'Connor is] looking absolutely amazing, she had a fantastic trial a couple of months ago," said Adlington. "She's 18, she's from Bath, she's experienced London, she managed to make the final and she's progressing nicely on the road to Rio. I think Siobhan will do really well."
