England's Sarah Kippax pleased with strong finish in mixed doubles squash match

England squash player Sarah Kippax believes that she and partner Daryl Selby picked the right shots to win their mixed doubles match against Wales.

Sarah Kippax has said that she and Daryl Selby played the "right shots" to secure a narrow win over Wales in their mixed doubles match at the Commonwealth Games this afternoon.

The 2-1 win leaves the English pairing at the top of Pool F, having won both of their contests so far.

The 31-year-old said "The matches are going to be close when you have a lot of players who are capable of producing match-winning performances.

"There were ups and downs throughout and especially serving out was a bit of a downer when we had such a big lead in the third game.

"We tried to pressurise the girl as much as we could really and that seemed to work. At the crucial points in the last few rallies we made the right choices and played the right shots and it paid off."

Kippax and Selby face a duo from Mauritius in their final pool game tomorrow.
