Shooting champion withdraws from 2014 Games over jacket blunder

Nur Ayuni Farhana Abdul Halim withdraws from the 2014 Commonwealth Games after her competition jacket went missing.

Commonwealth Games shooting champion Nur Ayuni Farhana Abdul Halim has had to pull out of competing in Glasgow after her competition jacket went missing.

The Malaysian competitor, who won gold in New Delhi in 2010, failed to show in time for Monday's registration for the event.

"It is really painful for her," team manager Musa Omar is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "The rules clearly state that a rifle shooter must wear a jacket.

"We tried to borrow one but it did not fit her. We tried to make a new one but she said that she would need two months to get used to it. This is all so unfortunate. She's taking it badly. She is sad, we are all sad."

Ayuni was due to compete in the 10m air rifle and 50m rifle prone events.
