Steven Scott praises double trap runner-up

Commonwealth double trap champion Steven Scott praises England teammate Matthew French's performance in the gold-medal shoot-off.

Steven Scott has heaped praise on England teammate Matthew French after he beat his compatriot in the final of the men's double trap shooting event at the Commonwealth Games.

Scott made all 30 of his shots in the shoot-off, while French missed just one to miss out on the gold.

The champions told reporters: "I got a 30/30 in the qualifying round yesterday and I managed to keep a little bit extra in the gold-medal match and come away with a second.

"It was probably the most passionate shoot-off I've ever been involved in because if I ever wanted anyone to beat me it would be Mattthew. We both put ourselves in a situation where we could both win, and I managed to come out on top.

"He could be top 10 in the world, the way he shoots. We both push each other and today we pushed each other along to gold and silver."

India's Asab Mohd picked up bronze.
