Adam Jones rules out Wales return

Former Wales prop Adam Jones claims that he will not return to the national team because coach Warren Gatland is too "stubborn".

Former Wales prop Adam Jones has ruled out a return to international rugby by claiming that coach Warren Gatland is too "stubborn" to recall him.

The 34-year-old retired from representing his country earlier this year after being left out of the team's Six Nations squad.

Current prop Samson Lee could miss the start of the Rugby World Cup through injury, but Jones is not expecting an invitation to return to the international setup.

"They won't call. I think you know by now Gats is stubborn," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I'm fully retired [from international rugby]. The scrum obviously didn't go well [during last weekend's defeat to Ireland] but I guess they're hanging their hat on Samson being fit."

Wales are back in action on August 29 when they continue their Rugby World Cup preparations against Ireland in Dublin.
