Wales survive a scare to edge out Japan by a 22-18 scoreline.

Four penalties from Wales outside-half Dan Biggar have helped Wales record a 22-18 victory over Japan.

Wales found themselves behind at the break, before they stormed back to avoid losing to the Asian side for the first time.

A youthful Welsh team began the game on the back foot, falling behind to two Ayumu Goromaru penalties, but they were soon back on level terms through Biggar.

However, a try from Japan's Michael Broadhurst two minutes before half time handed the home side the lead.

Wales returned after the break in more positive fashion, with Biggar recording two more penalties, before Harry Robinson went over for a try.

Yoshikazu Fujita replied for Japan with a try of his own, but it wasn't enough as Wales held on for a narrow win.
