Warren Gatland reflects on uninspiring Wales performance

Wales coach Warren Gatland says that he will quickly forget yesterday's uninspiring 17-7 victory over Tonga.

Wales coach Warren Gatland has said that his 100th match in charge was one to forget as the Red Dragons huffed and puffed their way to a 17-7 victory over Tonga.

Owen Williams and Ashley Beck went over to put the hosts in control after 25 minutes at the Millennium Stadium, but the visitors frustrated the hosts thereafter, closing out a scoreless second half.

The New Zealander is pleased to have reached a century of Test matches at the helm of the Welsh national team, although he stated that his focus is improving the team rather than reaching milestones.

"I will forget about this match pretty quickly," the New Zealander told reporters.

"The milestone is something to reflect back on but it's not about the coaches and we are just the cogs. It's about the players and helping improve the team.

"This record is something to note but it's not something I am motivated about."

Australia come to visit in next week's final Autumn International.
