Chris Wyles handed USA captaincy

USA hand the captaincy to Chris Wyles as they get ready for the Rugby World Cup.

Saracens full-back Chris Wyles will captain the USA at the Pacific Nations Cup as they begin their preparations for the World Cup.

The 31-year-old, who was the joint top try scorer in last season's Aviva Premiership, will take over from Todd Clever.

"Chris has been one of the most respected and successful Eagles of all time and has been a selfless and proud Eagle for nearly a decade," Eagles head coach Mike Tolkin told the side's official website.

"His success as a professional player with Saracens, matched with the respect that he has garnered with his teammates throughout his career, makes him a natural choice as captain."

The Eagles will play Samoa in San Jose on July 18 before taking on Japan in Sacramento on July 24. Both sides have been drawn in Group B alongside the USA for the World Cup.
