Both sides had early chances in a lively start to the match, but it was David Smith who clinched the opening try for the defending champions, although Don Armand quickly hit back for the Chiefs.

However, the hosts started to get the majority of the chances as the first half progressed, resulting in a second try for Smith to put the French side five points up at the break.

Xavier Chiocci forced his way over the line for a third Toulon try early in the second half before Wilkinson added a fourth off the bench to seal the bonus.

The result lifts Toulon back above Cardiff Blues in pool two.
