Sale coach Bryan Redpath insists that he is more interested in his side's performances and not their progress following Sunday's defeat to Montpellier.

Sale Sharks head coach Bryan Redpath has claimed that he is more interested in his side's performances and not their progress following Sunday's defeat to Montpellier in the Heineken Cup.

The Sharks suffered their first loss of the this season's competition as they went down 33-18 in France.

"I'm not thinking about qualification," said Redpath. "We're looking more at performances, not necessarily long-term plans but for where we're going to be in Europe.

"This competition is for the very big clubs and it's hard to compete with them at the moment. The Premiership will be and always has been our main focus."

Sale continue their Aviva Premiership campaign on Friday when they travel to Worcester Warriors.
