Newcastle Falcons beat London Irish with Rory Clegg in great kicking form.

Newcastle Falcons have beaten London Irish in their LV= Cup match at Kingston Park.

Falcons took an early lead, but the away side secured the first try of the afternoon through Tom Fowlie.

A succession of penalties followed with both teams failing to find their rhythm. However, Warren Fury then went over to hand the Falcons a 16-11 lead at half time.

From the restart, Irish's Alex Lewington reduced the deficit, but the Falcons opened up an eight-point lead thanks to Rory Clegg's kicking.
