Dai Young "thrilled" with Wasps bonus-point win

Dai Young says he is "absolutely thrilled" after Wasps claimed a bonus-point victory against London Irish.

Wasps director of rugby Dai Young has said he is "absolutely thrilled" that his team managed to take a winning bonus point against London Irish.

With time running out at Twickenham, Thomas Young took advantage of a rolling maul to score the Coventry outfit's fourth try against the Exiles.

However, while his team left the London double header with full points, Young has admitted that the game did not completely go to plan.

He told reporters: "It was always going to be tough today. I thought we looked a little bit flat in both attack and defence - but that's the sign of a good team. I always felt we were going to win the game. I never felt it was going to go away from us and I was confident we were going to get there in the end.

"It shows how far we've come over the last season or so - we've always had big performances in us, but backing it up has always eluded us and she things haven't quite gone as well for us on the field we've tended to crumble in the past.

"Things didn't go 100% to plan today but we never looked like we were panicking, and we found a way to win - and I'm absolutely thrilled to come away with the bonus point."

Wasps are now fourth in the Aviva Premiership table.
