Leicester Tigers sign Matt Toomua

Aviva Premiership outfit Leicester Tigers secure the services of Australia international Matt Toomua on a deal which starts next summer.

Fly-half Matt Toomua has agreed a switch to the Leicester Tigers.

The 25-year-old, who was a member of the Australia squad that reached the final of the recent Rugby World Cup, will arrive at Welford Road in the summer of 2016 when his commitments with Super 15 side Brumbies have come to an end.

"I'm very excited to be joining the Tigers. It's a great opportunity for me to be a part of such a successful organisation with such a proud history," he told the club's official website.

Director of rugby Richard Cockerill added: "He is still a young man but has already achieved such a lot in Super Rugby and played extensively in Test rugby for the Wallabies. I'm sure his arrival will excite supporters too because he will be a top-class addition to the squad."

Toomua has been capped on 23 occasions at senior international level.
