Anthony Allen hopeful of Leicester Tigers coaching role

Anthony Allen is keen to remain involved at Leicester Tigers, revealing that talks are already underway over a potential coaching position.

Anthony Allen has revealed that he is hopeful of landing a coaching role at Leicester Tigers after announcing his retirement from rugby union this week.

The inside centre was forced to call time on his career at the age of just 28 due to regular knee problems.

Allen has spent the last six years at Welford Road, making 124 appearances for the club in total, and he would like to remain in place for a while longer.

"I'm discussing it with the club and hopefully we can sort something out, to help out - maybe with the younger lads," he told BBC Sport. "There are a few other things on the back-burner but my first love is rugby and I'd love to stick in it if I can."

Allen, capped twice at international level for England, appeared 11 times for Leicester in his final playing campaign at the club.
