Alex Corbisiero "really looking forward" to Six Nations opener against Wales

Alex Corbisiero acknowledges that both he and England face a "massive year", with the World Cup to come after next month's Six Nations.

England prop Alex Corbisiero has admitted that he is relishing the chance to face Wales in next month's Six Nations opener in Cardiff.

The 26-year-old was named as part of coach Stuart Lancaster's training squad ahead of the tournament, which kicks off in a little over two weeks' time.

Corbisiero has been struck down by a series of injuries in recent years, and after missing out on the Red Rose's Autumn Internationals at the end of last year, he is now looking to make his mark.

"It was not easy, but it makes it a lot sweeter to be back healthy and in a position to be back where I want to be," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"What an opportunity, what a way to start the competition and what an intense environment to walk into. I'm really looking forward to being involved.

"It's a massive year. We need to start putting in some performances, building some momentum and start aiming through this competition into what's ahead."

England will be looking to avenge the heavy 30-3 defeat inflicted on them by Wales in their last meeting at the Millennium Stadium.
