Sir Clive Woodward: 'England are not reaching potential'

Sir Clive Woodward feels that England are not fulfilling their potential following a fifth Test loss in a row in their narrow defeat to South Africa at Twickenham.

Sir Clive Woodward believes that England are not reaching their full potential after watching their 31-28 defeat to South Africa.

Stuart Lancaster's side fell to their fifth loss in a row as they suffered a three-point defeat to the Springboks at Twickenham, and Woodward feels that there is enough talent in the team to earn better results.

The World Cup-winning coach told the Daily Mail: "England showed yet again that they are competitive but they are still not unleashing the full potential of this group.

"Our traditional strengths are all there and in many ways we fronted up really well. The front five, the scrums, the lineout are going well.

"It's outside that we have problems, we are not playing enough real footballers in the backs to take on Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, which has to be the goal."

England face Samoa in their next Autumn Internationals on November 22.
