David Pocock pleased with Australia scrum

Australia back-rower David Pocock tells Sports Mole that he was pleased with his side's scrummaging performance during the victory over England at Twickenham.

Australia back-row David Pocock has praised his side's scrummaging performance during their Rugby World Cup victory over England at Twickenham.

Stuart Lancaster's side had enjoyed dominance in the scrum during recent meetings between the two nations, but Australia stood up to the challenge on their way to a 33-13 triumph on Saturday night.

Pocock warned that his side still have a way to go to establish a reputation in that area of the game, but believes that their latest outing was a step in the right direction.

When asked whether the scrummaging performance had silenced their doubters, Pocock told Sports Mole: "I don't know if you can do that in one game.

"Certainly it is a pleasing step forward and it's an area we've put a lot of work in to. I'm really proud of the guys up front doing the hard yards, but [it's] one good performance, you've got to back it up week after week to build up a reputation."

The result sees England crash out of the competition, becoming the first host nation in World Cup history to suffer that fate in the group stages.
