Wigan Warriors 36-6 Wakefield Trinity Wildcats

Wigan Warriors beat Wakefield Wildcats 36-6 in the Super League.

Wigan Warriors have beaten Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 36-6 at the DW Stadium in the Super League this afternoon.

The home side took the lead courtesy of a converted try by Thomas Leuluai before Anthony Gelling extended their advantage by touching down after half an hour.

Darrell Goulding added another four points before the break and Josh Charnley turned those four into six to give the Warriors a 16-0 lead at half time.

Wigan extended their lead soon after the restart courtesy of a George Carmont try to give them a 20-point advantage. Charnley then broke through to touch down before converting his own try.

The Warriors continued the rout by moving 30 points clear through Goulding's second of the match before Wakefield finally got themselves on the scoresheet through a Kyle Wood try, converted by Paul Sykes.

Carmont then finished off the scoring for the home side, running in his second try of the match to give the Warriors a comfortable 36-6 win.

The result means that Wigan move up to second in the Super League table, while Wakefield's points difference mean that they also move up a place to 12th.
