Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane satisfied by scrappy win

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane praises his players after seeing them grind out a 20-10 win over Widnes Vikings in Super League.

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has hailed his side for battling to a 20-10 victory over Widnes Vikings in Super League.

The Warriors kept pace with leaders Leeds Rhinos on Friday as they claimed the spoils at the DW Stadium.

While praising Widnes for how they pushed his players, Wane believes that his team deserved to win the match.

"Credit to Widnes in how they defended, but we did enough to find the win and we weren't doing that at the start of the year," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"We are finding ways of winning games when we are not really killing it in how we are playing. We had to work for this and just to get the win I am satisfied."

Wigan are back in Super League action on July 23 when they make the trip to Hull FC.
