Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith reveals that Lee Briers is close to making his return from injury.

Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith has revealed that Lee Briers is nearing a return from injury.

The 34-year-old half-back has been sidelined for the Wolves' last nine games with an ankle problem.

"Lee has been given the green light to return to playing and so it won't be long before he's back," Smith told Sky Sports News.

Smith was speaking after Warrington's 28-22 defeat at Leeds Rhinos in the Super League on Sunday.
