Marwan Koukash: Iestyn Harris's job "absolutely safe"

Marwan Koukash, the owner of Salford Red Devils, gives his full backing to Iestyn Harris in the wake of recent speculation surrounding the head coach's future.

Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash has reiterated once more that he has no intention of quitting the club following a winless start to the Super League season.

The businessman had to clear up comments made after his side's 52-6 home loss against St Helens last week when he claimed to have "had enough".

Koukash's own future is not the only matter reportedly in the air right now, though, as Australia coach Tim Sheens is spending a three-week spell at the club which has seen Iestyn Harris's position come under threat.

However, speaking to Sky Sports News to clarify the various issues, he said: "I love rugby league, I love Salford. I am fully committed to the club and I am fully committed to taking the club forward.

"We might have had a hiccup early in the season but that doesn't lessen my commitment to the club. There were a number of factors that led me to say that. I've discussed it with the boys, we had a meeting on Monday morning, and everything is fine now, and we move on.

"Iestyn's job is absolutely safe. Like I said we have talked about it in the dressing room and we know what we need to do to move forward. We will start the hard work."

Salford, who are currently bottom of the early league standings, return to action on Saturday when they host Hull FC.
