Hull KR release Jonny Walker from his contract with immediate effect.

Hull KR have confirmed that prop Jonny Walker has been released with immediate effect.

Walker, 23, only joined Hull KR on a three-year deal from Castleford Tigers this season, but injury restricted the youngster to just eight appearances.

"Hull Kingston Rovers have agreed to release prop forward Jonny Walker from his contract with immediate effect in his pursuit of regular first team football elsewhere," read a statement on the club's official website.

Walker, who is the twin brother of Rovers forward Adam Walker, had been the subject of a club investigation recently following an allegation of a serious breach of discipline.
