Hull Kingston Rovers lose Ryan Shaw for season

Hull Kingston Rovers confirm that Ryan Shaw will miss the rest of the 2016 Super League season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Hull Kingston Rovers have confirmed that outside-back Ryan Shaw will miss the rest of the Super League season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

The 23-year-old suffered the serious knee injury during the Easter Monday clash at Wigan Warriors earlier this week.

"It's terrible news for [Shaw] after he'd earned a consistent run in the side, but the important thing now is to get him the best medical support and ensure he comes back from this a stronger player," Rovers interim head coach James Webster told the club website.

"He's still young and younger players tend to heal quickly so we have every confidence that he'll make a full recovery and be back ready to train with us in pre-season."

Hull KR will also be without Australian winger Josh Mantellato after he broke his arm in the Good Friday derby against Hull FC.
