Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson swore at a TV presenter live on air when his rape conviction was brought up during an interview.

The 48-year-old was discussing his support for Toronto mayor Rob Ford before being asked whether his 1992 rape conviction could harm the politician's campaign for re-election.

Tyson responded angrily by saying: "You come across like a nice guy but you're really a piece of shit. Fuck you, that [question] was a piece of shit."

The retired sportsman, who served three years of a six-year sentence for rape, was on the news programme to promote his one-man show The Undisputed Truth.
