A Newcastle United fan decided to play a joke on Sunderland duo Jozy Altidore and El-Hadji Ba when he spotted them near his home.

The supporter, believed to be named Kyle Matthews, approached the footballers and asked to take their photo while they held up the sign 'SMB' (Sad Mackem Bastard), which is a jibe often used by Magpies fans to describe their rivals.

Both players appeared to be oblivious to the meaning of the sign as they posed for photos at the fan's request.
