Peter Crouch 'wants to join 'Strictly Come Dancing' lineup'

The wife of Peter Crouch says that the Stoke City striker wants to be a contestant on 'Strictly Come Dancing' in the future.

The wife of Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has revealed that he wants to take part in BBC reality television show 'Strictly Come Dancing' when he retires from playing.

Abbey is currently a contestant in this year's series and was close to losing her place in the competition last night, but was saved by judges over Rachel Riley in the dance-off.

"Peter is so envious of me at the moment," the Daily Star quotes Abbey as saying. "He definitely wants to do it. When I was first approached, he said I should sign up.

"He obviously thinks if I do Strictly, then he's got a free pass once he's finished with football. I just know he'll want to. He's sent me in as the guinea pig."

Crouch has given some insight into how he moves on the dancefloor by previously adopting the robot routine as a goal celebration.
