Fan charged for hurling anti-semitic abuse during Tottenham vs. Southampton

A man is reportedly charged after hurling anti-semitic abuse during last weekend's match between Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.

A man has reportedly been charged for hurling anti-semitic abuse from the crowd during last weekend's clash at White Hart Lane between Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.

A 57-year-old was arrested by police following Spurs' 3-2 victory after two Southampton fans reported the man's behaviour.

A Met spokesman said in a statement: "During the Tottenham versus Southampton match at White Hart Lane on March 23, officers in the stadium received a complaint regarding the behaviour of a man sat in an area reserved for away supporters.

"The complaint was made by two people sat in the same area of the stadium. Officers arrested the man on suspicion of a racially aggravated offence under section five of the Public Order Act."

The man has been bailed until May 19.
