A man is reportedly charged for throwing a plastic bottle at Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton.

A man has reportedly been charged for throwing a plastic bottle at Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton.

The former Newcastle United player was hit by the bottle during the second half of QPR's 2-0 defeat to Burnley on October 26.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said that 26-year-old John Pounder has been charged with throwing a missile and given a public order offence of using threatening words or behaviour, according to the Daily Mail.

The man will appear at Burnley Magistrates' Court on November 22.
