A fan of Greek side PAOK has been arrested after allegedly covering the away bench at the team's stadium in anchovies.

The team's cup semi-final against Olympiacos, who are known as "the anchovies" by their opponents because their home ground is close to a port, had to be delayed by more than an hour while several kilos of fish were cleared up.

Police in Thessaloniki confirmed that a 34-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.

PAOK went on to win the match 1-0.
