Caroline Wozniacki "a little nervous" about New York Marathon debut

Caroline Wozniacki admits that she is "a little nervous" about taking part in the New York Marathon on Sunday due to her longest run currently standing at 13 miles.

Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki has admitted that she is "a little nervous" about taking part in this Sunday's New York Marathon for the first time.

The 24-year-old agreed to join the 26.2-mile event back in the summer, but has admitted that she is slightly anxious because her longest race so far is 13 miles.

"I'm a little nervous," Wozniacki told reporters after picking up her official race bib in Manhattan. "This is the farthest I'm going to run.

"I think it's going to be an unbelievable experience. The New York City Marathon has always been on my bucket list."

During the build-up to the race, Wozniacki has raised more than £30,000 for charity Team for Kids.
