TalkSPORT sees off competition from the BBC to secure the rights to the British and Irish Lions' tour to Australia.

TalkSPORT has won the rights to broadcast live coverage of the British and Irish Lions' tour to Australia.

The radio station saw off competition from the BBC and will provide commentary on all 10 games of the 2013 event.

Lions chief executive John Feehan said: "TalkSPORT has become a major force in UK sports radio with proven experience in live rugby broadcasting.

"It is proper that the Lions Tour in its 125th year looks for dynamic new partners that benefit both our sponsors and fans."

The Lions' tour kicks off with their clash with the Barbarians in Hong Kong on June 1.
