Michael Schumacher "making progress" in recovery from skiing accident

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher is "making progress" in his recovery from serious head injuries, according to his manager Sabine Kehm.

Seven-time world Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher is "making progress" in his recovery from a serious skiing accident.

The 45-year-old has been undergoing rehabilitation at his home near Geneva, Switzerland after being discharged from hospital in September.

Schumacher spent nine months in hospital in an induced coma after he hit his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps on December 29 last year.

Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm told German TV station RTL: "[He is] making progress considering the severity of his injury. You have to give it time. I think you really just have to have patience.

"The family is really very thankful [for the public support] and also very moved by it. I think that positive energy can have a good effect."

Last week, former F1 driver and friend of Schumacher, Philippe Streiff, claimed that the ex-driver was paralysed in a wheelchair and has memory, as well as speech problems.
