Miami police have reportedly dropped all charges against Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic, who was arrested in July for allegedly trespassing and resisting arrested.
The 22-year-old was taken into custody after police were called to a hotel where the sportsman was hosting a party in his room.
Tomic, who has not progressed further than a quarter-final place in a Grand Slam, will no longer face punishment as the case was thrown out over inconsistencies in reports from hotel security and the police.
The tennis player's lawyer Chad Piotrowski told Australian AP: "We knew all along the case wouldn't hold up in court and the charges would be dropped.
"In the end, I was able to establish that Bernard did not break any laws and he didn't do anything to deserve being arrested. I'm very pleased that the state did the right thing in dismissing his case. Justice was served today."
Tomic has been in trouble with the law before - in 2012 police investigated claims that he got in a scuffle with a male friend in a jacuzzi, while in 2013 he had his driving licence taken away after being caught speeding numerous times.
