Oscar Pistorius reportedly prays to his late mother daily to help him prove that he did not intend to kill his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius has reportedly turned to prayer following the murder charge placed against him after the death of his girlfriend.

The double amputee, who is currently on bail until his next court appearance in June, has been charged with the premeditated killing of Reeva Steenkamp at his home in Pretoria, South Africa by shooting through a bathroom door four times.

It is understood that the 26-year-old has begun praying to his late mother, who passed away at the age of 42, to help him prove that he did not intend to kill his model girlfriend, according to the Daily Star.

Pistorius claimed in his affidavit that he thought that Steenkamp was an intruder when he opened fire.
